My Review: DCI Sheens gets a call he's been waiting thirty years for. The decomposed body of the missing girl, Aurora, has been finally been found. The story is told in two timelines a) now –Sheen's police investigation and b) then – Aurora's story. The chapters are well thought out and you are able to keep up with the clues in real time investigation against what happened in 1983. Everyone is a suspect.
I really enjoyed She Lies in Wait, and it kept me guessing and changing my suspects until the very end. I hope to see more of DCI Sheens and especially DC Hanson. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Thank you so much the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a complimentary electronic copy in return for an honest review.

My Review: There are few novels that make you want to dip your toe into the murky waters of crime, but this is one of them. The prologue starts with a heist. And then chapter one goes back in time to the protagonist's freshman years. Politically the message was strong throughout the middle of the book set in Iraq. Why are we sending young men to war?
The last third was set is the US after the long stint in Iraq, and seen through the eyes of PTSD suffering junkie. A lot of his behaviour was reprehensible yet it was told with such candor and charm! I could see this being made into a television series or a film. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. My Review: The thing about weddings and hen weekends is that they are meant to be fun. So why do they always feel like forced-aren't-we-having-fun-fun. The first chapter was perfect in instilling hesitation from the bride-to-be when following the maid of honour's directions to a mysterious location.
I enjoyed getting to know the women and forgot about the pending twists and turns. There was enough intrigue and mystery that anyone could've done it. And about two-thirds during the book I was sure I had nailed the ending, only to be completely wrong. It was a great story that kept you guessing to the very last chapter. Bravo! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. My Review: SEX, DRUGS, AND ROCK & ROLL
I had heard so many good things about Daisy Jones and the Six – to the point that I was worried my expectations were too high. But worry not - it really is that good. Daisy Jones & The Six is such a detailed and well-accomplished oral history of a fictional rock band in the 1970s that you have to remind yourself it's fiction. I have nostalgia for the Los Angeles scene in the seventies and the sunset strip and the heady parties held at Chateau Marmont. I love that music – Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, I loved the story and the telling of the rock music journey from an idea for a band to super stardom. I want to know Daisy Jones, I want to hear her music. When I finished the book, I suffered immense grief at the loss of the world that Taylor Jenkins Reid had painted. Before I read this book and before it was even published it had been bought by Reese Witherspoon's production company to turn into a television series. Bring it on! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
